Choosing an IPTV Player: What Works on Which Platform

The most common setup mistake is looking for the wrong app on the wrong platform. Popular Android players are simply not available on Samsung and LG televisions, because those brands do not run Android.

Identify your platform first

If your television runs Android TV, your options are wide. On Samsung or LG you are limited to what their stores carry.

Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS)

Players on these platforms typically work on a one-time licence. They share a common trait: during setup they ask for the television's MAC address, and the licence binds to that device.

You read the MAC address from the app screen and send it to us; we handle the registration.

Several offer a trial period, so you can confirm it works on your specific television before paying.

Android TV and Android boxes

Some players are not in the store and require direct installation. In that case, knowing the file's source matters.

Fire TV Stick

iPhone, iPad and Apple TV

Televisions without an app store

An inexpensive Android box or stick in the HDMI port is enough. The television becomes a display; everything runs on the box.
