IPTV Setup, Step by Step

Setup follows the same four steps on every device. What changes is where the app comes from and what the menus are called. The underlying reason streaming works this way at all is explained in What is IPTV?.

What you need before starting

Three pieces of information: username, password and server (portal) address. These cover one device. How many screens one set of details can use at once is covered in How Many Devices Can Watch at Once?.

When copying and pasting, watch for a trailing space — it is the most common cause of login failure.

The four common steps

1. Install the player for your device. Android apps do not exist on Samsung or LG.
2. Choose "Xtream Codes API" as the login type. Your details are for that method; selecting "M3U" will fail.
3. Enter the three details. Type the server address in full, including "http://".
4. Wait for the list to load. The first load can take a minute or two.

Differences by device

Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS): Install from the television's own store. Most players ask for the television's MAC address during setup — read it from the screen and send it to us.

Android TV and boxes: Install from Google Play. Some players are not listed and need direct installation, which requires allowing installs from unknown sources.

Fire TV Stick: Fire OS uses Amazon's store. Apps missing from it are installed through a downloader utility.

iPhone, iPad, Apple TV: Install from the App Store. An iPhone app usually has a tvOS counterpart.

MAG boxes: No app is installed. The portal address goes under Settings > System Settings > Servers > Portals, then the box restarts.

First checks after setup

• Open several channels — if one fails, it is that channel's source.
• Check the quality; if SD opened, look for the FHD version in the list.
• Open a film to confirm the archive loads.
